Mercian Accountants is a small, established accounting firm with clients nationwide. We are looking for experienced Xero Bookkeepers to do all the usual tasks, preparing the books to Trial Balance, for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. We are fully remote-working and provide equipment including laptop and mobile. This is an interesting and varied role with real prospects for career development as the firm grows.
What’s Xero Bookkeepers role?
A Xero bookkeeper is a professional who is responsible for maintaining and organizing financial records using the Xero accounting software. The job of a Xero bookkeeper typically involves tasks such as:
- Setting up and maintaining the Xero software, including creating new accounts and setting up financial reporting
- Entering and organizing financial transactions, such as invoices, expenses, and bank statements
- Reconciling bank and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy
- Producing financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements
- Providing support to clients, including answering questions about their financial records and helping them to understand their financial reports
In addition to these tasks, a Xero bookkeeper may also be responsible for working with other team members to develop and implement financial strategies and goals. They may also be responsible for maintaining relationships with clients and providing ongoing support and guidance to ensure that their financial records are accurate and up to date.
Must haves
- UK nationals currently residing in UK with experience or education in the UK
- Experienced working in a similar role, able to handle multiple clients
- Xero certification to meet the requirements for this program
- Excellent communication through email, telephone, and video conferencing
- Good at communicating with clients and comfortable doing so
- A qualification in bookkeeping or accounts
